Developed industry

Slovakia should rely upon sedulity and wisdom of its inhabitants as it does not have considerable reserves of mineral raw materials. The intensive line up into international trade is inevitable as Slovakia produces far more than it can consume.

The Slovak Republic belongs to the economically developed countries of the world and is a member of OECD. Slovakia has complex economic structure where the importance of non-manufacturing activities raises over the industry importance and thus mainly over agricultural.

Slovakia becomes in process of historic development an industrialized country with development of all industrial sectors which supplies the customer and further manufacturer with wide variety of goods. As it concern the production significance engineering is at first place followed by chemical and food industry (see Table 1. The structure of industry). Factories are concentrated mainly in major cities as it concern regions mainly at central and upper Povazie (river Vah surrounds). You can gather basic orientation in Table 2. Industry in Slovakia nevertheless of massive access of foreign investors changes constantly the deployment of industrial sectors either by acquisitions of existing plant or green land projects over the last period.
