Description
of the company
The company is the sole
producer of steel tubes in Slovakia and, at the same time, one of
the most important ones in eastern Europe. It holds a dominant position
in the hot-rolled seamless tubes market. It exports around 75% of
output, especially to the Czech Republic, EU countries, eastern
Europe, as well as the Middle and Far East. In terms of sales, it
takes third place among metallurgical enterprises in Slovakia. It
employs around 4,100 people.

Acquisition
The acquisition took place from June to July 1996 by buying
shares from domestic investors. We carried it out on our own account,
with some funding from external sources. Subsequently, we sold our
stake to the final customer. We managed to buy a 0.4% participation
in the share capital. The acquisition volume totalled 52 million SKK. |
